Midway House is nestled in the picturesque setting of St Albans. The existing house was transformed to address the needs of a growing family.

Studio INTEGRATE was contacted when the development was already in progress, grappling with an inefficient internal layout, inadequate documentation, and planning challenges. Despite these hurdles, SI swiftly undertook the task of completely redesigning the internal spaces within a tight timeframe, while also providing valuable assistance to the client in matters concerning internal lighting, layout optimisation, and project management.

The proposal entailed extending the existing house and repurposing it into two self-contained units to accommodate an extended family. This extension project comprised a three-bedroom unit spanning two floors, alongside a one-bedroom garden apartment. Both units share access to a garden area, fostering a sense of communal living within the familial setting.
